UFC 103 Preview

UFc 103 will be the next pay per view event on Sept. 19 in Dallas, TX. (UfC fight night : Diaz v Guillard will be free on spike tv on Sept. 16)

The main card of this pay per view includes Tyson Griffin (13-2) v Hermes Franca (20-7), Josh Koscheck (14-4) v Frank Trigg (19-6), Martin Kampmann (15-2) v Paul Daley (21-8-2), Mirko Cro Cop (25-6-2, 1 NC) v Junior Dos Santos (8-1), and Rich Franklin ( 27-4, 1 NC) v Vitor Belfort (18-8).

Hermes Franca v Tyson Griffin will be an interesting fight between two tough lighweights. Franca has not fought in the UFC since Oct 2008 in his win over Marcus Aurelio and is in need of a win to move up in the division. He will not have an easy task against Griffin. Griffin is strong and has a tough ground and pound. I'd take Griffin to win.

The Koscheck Trigg fight will be a tough fight between two fighters with wrestling backgrounds. Koscheck is comin off a brutal knockout loss to Paulo Thiago and needs a win to rebound. Trigg though will be his toughest opponent to date. The 37 yr old Trigg makes his first trip back to the octagon since his loss to GSP in 2005. He has fought in other organizations since and has a four fight win streak. This fight is close to call, but I think Trigg pulls out the win.

With the injury to Mike Swick, Kampmann's new opponent is Ufc newcomer Paul Daley. Both are great strikers and its a good chance someone is getting knocked out in this fight. Kampmann gets the win.

The Cro Cop Dos Santos fight is also a fight between two talented strikers. This has fight of the night potential. Cro Cop needs has not been very successful and needs a win to get closer to a title shot. Dos Santos is relatively unknown to most people, but is a very well rounded fighter. Cro Cop experience and better striking gets him the win.

The main event between Franklin and Belfort is great for mma fans. Belfort makes his return to the Ufc and is on a four fight win streak. He has shown he is still a devastating striker. Franklin is a strong well rounded fighter. His only four losses have come to current or former champions. He has great conditioning and is a better fighter at a heavier weight class. Franklin gets the win.

This is my first post and I am new to blogging. I will say you can call me "Atonius," I currently live in Texas, and am "the single guy."

Now for what this blog will be about. I am not an expert in any field so I will not focus on any one topic. I plan on talking about things in my life that I enjoy. I will talk about sports, fitness, music, and my attempts to find a girlfriend....and anything that I feel like sharing.
